Waterford Residential Care Centre
This project is a new 100 bed residential care centre and production kitchen in the grounds of St. Patrick's Hospital Waterford, a former Union Workhouse.
The new unit is arranged across two floors, comprising 2 households of 30 beds, 2 households of 20 beds, roof terraces, production kitchen and related community spaces. The unit links with the existing hospital via a glazed link to the north, and directly with the western end of the mortuary chapel - a protected structure which has been fully refurbished internally and externally, forming a new main entrance and foyer for the new unit and existing hospital.
The total floor area of the development is 7671m².

Project Overview
This project is a new 100 bed residential care centre and production kitchen in the grounds of St. Patrick’s Hospital Waterford, a former Union Workhouse.
The new unit is arranged across two floors, comprising 2 households of 30 beds, 2 households of 20 beds, roof terraces, production kitchen and related community spaces. The unit links with the existing hospital via a glazed link to the north, and directly with the western end of the mortuary chapel – a protected structure which has been fully refurbished internally and externally, forming a new main entrance and foyer for the new unit and existing hospital.
The total floor area of the development is 7671m².
Provision is made externally for a goods delivery area, waste management facilities, generator and oil storage tanks.
A new main entrance was formed in the existing southern boundary wall on St. Patrick’s Way where a total of 100 car parking spaces are provided with associated vehicular set down areas, bicycle parking and hard/soft landscaping to all external spaces including a new dementia specific garden.
