Project Overview

The Project has been divided into 4 Phases. The first comprising 5 sites across the country in counties Cavan, Cork, Sligo, Mayo and Tipperary which all reached completion/handover starting in May 2023. Phase 2 saw further sites in Laois and Offaly which reached completion/handover in November 2023 and brought the total number of units being occupied to 310. Phase 3 and 4 will continue through 2024 with further active sites in Cork, Dublin and Galway.

The 3D volumetric homes are manufactured and assembled off-site by 5 manufacturers and delivered to sites where service connections, site infrastructure and landscaping are completed.

The project has consisted primarily of single storey homes, with 12 two-storey, 3-bedroom houses, each consisting of 4 separate volumetric modules have been delivered in Lucan, Dublin.  The collaborative approach between the OPW, wider design team, SISK as main contractor and the manufacturers has been very positive to optimise the use of MMC.
