The development of the brown field site will provide 133 affordable rental apartments and community spaces addressing the under construction ‘Innovation Square’ and civic area.  This project represents the first standalone cost rental development by a local authority in Ireland.

The development is comprised of three blocks with a centrally located podium level courtyard providing the landscaped amenity space with private parking beneath.  The accommodation is comprised of, studios, one, two and three bed apartments and two town houses.  A community room and facilities are also provided as part of the development.

The brick façade and balcony provision were carefully considered to relate to the adjacent development and to address the new civic square and Innovation Centre.

The project will be connected to the local district heating network, which uses waste heat from a local data centre, to provide low carbon space heating and hot water to the residential units and other developments in the area.
