Potable Water
Following on from our overview within the office of Operational Energy, we have turned our attention to Potable Water – looking at how we can design buildings that can operate on reduced water consumption.
๐ Water is a precious resource that needs to be collected and treated to make safe for human consumption. On average, each Irish citizen uses 141.5 litres of water every day for drinking, washing & cooking. Additionally, conserving waterย saves energy.
๐ How We Can Effect Change:
โ
Understand Water consumption and Targets
โ
Expand Calculation of water consumption to all our projects
โ
Promote Testing & POE of our projects to inform our Sanitaryware Specifications.
โ
Encourage Services Consultants to consider CIBSE Guide G to reduce consumption in plumbing & heating systems.
We believe that impactful change is achieved through collaboration with Clients and Design Teams based on a common understanding led by COADY Architects.
But our responsibility doesnโt stop at the internal tap. Weโre also focusing on external water use and services โ supporting end users to adopt smarter water habits without compromising their comfort or quality of life.
