COADY Architects is pleased to announce the appointment of Luise Volschenk, Ruth McParland, William Gleeson and Paul Lennon as Associate Directors.
Luise Volschenk joined the practice in 2000 – she is a talented designer and brings considerable skills and experience in the delivery of residential, civic and education projects to the leadership team of the practice. She has recently led the team in delivery of 400 bed student accommodation scheme for NUI Galway with Phase 2, a further 780 beds, due to start on site shortly. She is the project architect for a major new Sports Science Health & recreation Centre on the TUD Tallaght Campus, now on site and is also currently working on the E3 Learning Foundry project for Trinity College, Dublin. Luise heads up our ISO Accreditation team and was instrumental in leading our COVID team, internally, in preparation for the safe return of staff to our offices – a project in it’s own right.
William Gleeson joined the Practice in 2005 and has been involved in a variety of projects in the commercial, residential and education sectors including as Project Architect, Employer’s Representative and Accessibility Auditor for both public and private sector clients. He is currently Senior Project Architect and Universal Access Design Specialist for the development of 20,000sqm Grade A, LEED Gold Certified offices at Dublin Airport Central due for completion in November. He led the design and delivery of recently completed primary schools at Haddington Road and Ballymun. He is also overseeing an affordable housing development of 210 dwellings in Naas for the Land Development Agency. William has developed the office’s philosophy of accessible design for all and provides in house training and auditing of projects. He also led the development and implementation of Practice policy and procedures regarding Building Control Amendment Regulations (BCAR) compliance.
Ruth McParland is a highly skilled and creative designer in the practice. Since joining the practice in 2005, Ruth has lead multiple base build and fit out projects in the commercial, education and residential sectors including the fit out of 4,180sqm at The Sharp Building in Hogan Place for a multinational pharmaceutical company and a 9,000sqm office refurbishment for a US multinational in Leopardstown, recently completed. She was lead architect for the 8,000sqm EOLAS ICT Hub at Maynooth University, with state-of-the-art IT research and business incubation facilities. Ruth is currently leading the fit-out and refurbishment of 6,000sqm offices in Cherrywood and a social housing scheme for Tuath Housing Association in Benburb St., Dublin. In her new role Ruth will oversee the expansion of the practice portfolio in the fit-out sector.
Paul Lennon has over 17 years of experience and is a highly skilled senior architect and contract manager. He has built up an extensive portfolio of commercial, residential and education projects. His recent experience includes completed residential developments for Cluid Housing and Wicklow County Council, and he is currently overseeing 133 affordable rental apartments in Tallaght for South Dublin County Council. His experience in the commercial sector includes the design and build delivery of Tipperary Civic Offices and Decentralised Government Offices for the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform in Tipperary Town, and for Decentralised Government Offices in Roscommon. Paul was primarily responsible for the implementation of BIM in the Practice using Revit Architecture as our principle software. He developed our systems, standards, libraries and procedures in line with PAS 1192. All of our projects have been implemented in BIM since 2012.
