Project Overview
This is a cross-border EU funded peace project to support cultural and inter-community activity across a wide range of sports. The complex, named the Peace Link, provides a wide range of top class sport facilities including a new 1600m² sports pavilion, a grass GAA pitch, a full IAAF athletics track and field facility and a 3G sports surface for GAA, rugby and soccer.
Extensive re-profiling of the heavily contoured Drumlin site was a key challenge to overcome with sensitive and appropriate modelling and significant ground remediation works. The complex is comprehensively landscaped with spectator areas, car parking and meandering perimeter paths integrated into the landscape.
